"David James Pelzer (born December 29, 1960) is an American author and advocate for children's rights

Dave Pelzer was born in Daly City, California, to Stephen Pelzer and Catherine Roerva Pelzer (née Christen) and was the third of five boys. As a child, Pelzer was abused by his mother, who thought of it as a game. Pelzer states that his mother enjoyed torturing him by starving him, forcing him to drink ammonia, and other horrors. His teachers stepped in on March 5, 1973 and 12-year-old Pelzer was placed in foster care. In 1979, he joined the Air Force and later became an author."

The reason i decided to write about Dave Pelzer is because i loved reading his books.  It was heart breaking to know that his mother treated him really bad.  He was neglected physically and verbally when he was a child.  I have only read 2 books of the eight books he has published.  I am looking forward in reading the other 6 books when i get an opportunity.

These are the two books I read from David Pelzer.

This book is Dave Pelzer second book published called The Lost Boy.  This book is the continuation of his life.  In this book it talks about when he is taken away and lives in foster families.

As i stated before I had only read two books out of the eight books Dave Pelzer wrote.  I recomment people to read these books because they talk about how some children suffer neglact from their parents.  He is not the only child who has suffer abuse from his mother but his case was really beyond anything.  He was burned ocassionally and mom will make him drink ammonia.  It is really admiaring to write about your life and let the world know how you were treated as a child.  It is sad to know that he did not have a normal childhood which all children should have a wonderful childhood.  The other eight books that i haven't read are A Man Named Dave, Help Yourself, My Story, The Privilage of Youth, Lifes Lessons, and Help Yourseldf for Teens.
